Summer School

Summer classes for students at the Laredo Independent School District will begin Monday June 1, 2026 at select LISD campuses.

 

The goal of LISD’s Summer School Program is to provide students with additional educational opportunities to fill instructional learning gaps and/or interventions for them to strengthen their academic success. 

 

LISD will offer a variety of classes to meet the needs of all learners in areas of required summer programs as well as some intervention and fun enrichment programs.

 

Daiches, DD Hachar, Kawas, Zachry, Dovalina, Farias, Macdonell, Santa Maria, Gallego, and J.C. Martin Elementary Schools will be offering classes this summer from 8 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Students will be able to attend any of the programs offered as long as they have been recommended by their teachers. A STEAM Academy for Kinder - Second grade, and Third-Fifth grade will also be offered. Summer classes for elementary school students will end on Thursday, June 25, 2026. 

 

Summer classes for middle school students will be available at Lamar Middle Schools. LISD Middle School students will be able to attend any of the programs offered as long as they have been recommended by their teachers. Classes for middle schools will be scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Summer classes will end on Thursday, June 25, 2016. 

 

Summer classes for high school students will be available at Martin, Nixon, Cigarroa and Garcia Early College High School. The programs that will be offered are the following: Extended School Year, intervention classes for Ninth-Twelve grade students, Drivers Ed, TSI for Ninth-Twelve grade students, Dual Enrollment, Advanced Waterbotics Camp for Ninth-Twelve grade students, Bilingual Language Academy, and CTE Internships for Ninth-Twelve grade students. Classes will be scheduled Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Classes will start on Monday, June 1 through Thursday, June 18 with the exception of Dual Enrollment classes which will begin on Wednesday, June 3 and conclude on Thursday, July 2, 2026.

 

The LISD Child Nutrition Program will be offering breakfast and lunch meals to students at all campuses. The summer feeding program is free to all children 18 and younger. Contact 211 for more information regarding additional feeding sites. The LISD Transportation Department will be providing transportation for students who reside within an area that is designated a hazardous route.
