The Laredo Independent School District in partnership with the City of Laredo Health Department will be offering flu vaccines at no cost for LISD students who are eligible under the Texas Vaccine for Children (TVFC)* requirements.The flu vaccine clinics are scheduled through October.
Our students had a blast at the district's Food Expo today! 🍎🌮 They got to sample delicious new dishes, learn about healthy eating, and even vote on their favorites. Thanks to everyone who made this amazing event happen. We can't wait to see what makes it onto the lunch menu!
Do you believe your child demonstrates exceptional abilities or a unique talent? Now is the time to act! The referral window for the Gifted and Talented (GT) Program is officially open.
Students currently enrolled in kindergarten through 12th grade can be referred for the GT Program. This is a chance for them to be recognized and supported in their areas of strength. Referrals can be submitted by a variety of people, including:
Parents
Teachers
Counselors
Community members
The students themselves
If you think your child would be a great fit for this program, we encourage you to submit a referral during this window. This is a fantastic opportunity to provide your child with resources and an academic environment that will help them thrive.

Laredo’s combined law enforcement officials including Laredo ISD Police Departments, in conjunction with the City of Laredo Police Department, the Webb County Sheriff’s Office, and the Constable’s Office reminded the public about school bus safety, speed limits and the use of electronic devices while driving in school zones. Monday, August 11, is the first day of class for Laredo ISD.
